Bulldogs News · Wrestling Dawgs go to the Swede

8 Wrestling Dawgs participated in the Swede Umbach Invitational hosted by Auburn High School this weekend.
“The Swede” featured 23 teams from Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Each of the 14 weight divisions held 20+ wrestlers vying for gold. A ton of wrestling took place over the last two days.
When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, Heavyweight Bulldog James Dawson was 5-0 and crowned champion. James had 3 pins, a major decision and a 3-2 win in the Finals. Julian “JuJu” Favors was 5-2 with 5 pins which left him in 9th place in the heavyweight division. Christopher “Skillet” Willet was 4-4 with 3 pins leaving him in 10th place of 24 in the 170 pound division. The 5 other Wrestling Dawgs gave great effort!
We had a great time, gained some valuable experience and grew as wrestlers this weekend.
Our next action is Thursday, December 19 as we welcome the Chelsea Hornets and Beauregard Hornets into Mainstreet Gym on the beautiful Opelika High campus.
Wrestling is set to start at 2:30 pm with the Wrestling Dawgs vs Chelsea in round 1, Beauregard vs Chelsea in round 2 and then the Wrestling Dawgs vs Beauregard in the 3rd round.
See you rabid Dawgs fans then!
Go Dawgs!!!
