Game Recap

The Bulldogs made the trek to Garrett-Harrison Stadium Monday night to battle the tough Central Freshman Red Devils. The Dawgs stymied the the Red Devils on the opening drive of the game as the Devils were stopped on 4th down. Opelika took over and drove down the field behind the bruising running of Brantan Barnett who punched it in the end zone to give the Dawgs a 7-0 lead following Dalton Cooper’s extra point. That was the extent of scoring for the Dawgs. The Red Devils would score twice in the 2nd quarter and took a 12-7 halftime lead to the locker room.
The 3rd quarter and most of the 4th quarter was a defensive slug-fest as neither offense could generate any movement until the Dawgs failed to convert a 4th down with 3 minutes remaining. The Devils were then able to sustain a scoring drive on a short field that would give the Devils an 18-8 lead. The 2-point conversion was good. 20-8 Red Devils. That would prove to be the final.
The setback at Central leaves the Freshman Dawgs with a 5-1 record on the year.
Next up for the Dawgs is a trip to Wetumpka to battle it out with the Freshman Indians at 5:30 on Monday Oct 12, 2015.
Hope to see many of you Dawgs fans there!

Go Dawgs!!!
